1. A good shepherd will correct and protect his sheep.
we need to look out for solitary, hermit and wandering sheep even in the team.
- those who stray and get distracted from serving or do not fellowship with other ushers;
- those who don't take advice or discipleship;
- those who breed discontent by talking to peers about their leaders.

2. A good shepherd fights for his sheep when they are in trouble.

3. A good shepherd is gentle and merciful to his sheep.
(Ps 23:6)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

copied, pasted it over from wanyun's blog. i like what she share. especially point 1. yes, i may not be a team leader, or anywhere near it, but i wanna be able to look out for any of e ushers in my team who feels that serving is "hi!, serve together, bye!" type. i want them to feel that usher ministry is not only a ministry to serve e people. but its a ministry with all e friendships filled with love.

take jeremy lee (eh. fyi for those who don't know, thats my team leader.) for example. he's so far 1 of e best leaders i think most can have.

point 1 - he corrects our way of thinking on different matters. sometimes when i 'complain' about something that happened, he'll take his time to explain carefully to me why i should not think that way etc. and he totally never believes in talking about someone else, be it leader or not.

point 2 - during e period of time when keeve wanna take away my ministry, jeremy said "don't worry. i am willing to risk my neck to keep u in UM cos u are a good usher." like, aww. that's how protective he is of his sheep when they meet with problems. of cos, most team leaders will do their best to keep them in e ministry. but e way he phrased it, i instantly felt how much he cares, not only for me but i believe e whole team too.

point 3 - most of u will agree with me, i guess. take ushers who back out from serving last min for eg. he didn't flare up. no one has seen jeremy angry before(except logistics personnels). he'll just smile & ask them to enjoy svc. recently, 3 of e ushers which supposedly must report for duty all back out. all jeremy commented was, smile & said "then e rest will have to enlarge their capacity." like, WOW. maybe if its me, i would have gotten angry a little.

i wanna rise up! i wanna take up more responsibilities. i wanna be able to put these 3 points to use one day. & its gonna be sometime soon! i wanna be like jeremy, always so calm & collected with 0.01% of anger in him.

oh Lord, mould me, use me.
